Afterglow, 2025
50 x 50cm acrylic on canvas
Framed in Tasmanian oak
I reminisce childhood days, holidaying by different beaches than home. Spending the day climbing rock walls, wading through shallow water, surfing until the sun goes down. At the end of the day when the sky wears pink, I would stare out across the beach and have my earliest realisations of how good life can be.

Invitation to explore, 2025
80 x 100cm & 80 x 100cm diptych
Acrylic, oil pastel, wax pastel, pumice, oil stick on polycotton
Framed in American ash
“Invitation to explore where the waves have rushed in and left sparkling pools in rocks. Textures and markings are already artworks in themselves. The edges appear as both rough and rounded and hold tiny life in shells. Fishes hide as quickly as they appear and only if you explore long enough do the rare sea creatures emerge from the darker corners.”

Coffee shop kid, 2024
40 x 50cm acrylic wax pastel and oil pastel on polycotton
Framed in flooded gum with a blackwood coloured stain
“A still life composition reflecting on a coffee date with my then three year old daughter a while back. We’re raising a generation of kids where milkshakes, babycinos and banana bread are the norm. They know mummy needs a takeaway latte to get through the day even when there’s an expensive coffee machine at home.
Roaming around by the trees at our favourite local cafe, these kids still know how to make their own fun. On this particular day a toy police car was brought along and little purple flowers were picked from someone’s garden. Predicted symbols of nostalgia.”
